Scaffold Design Engineer
Location: Aberdeen
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 DOE
Scaffold Design Engineer required for a specialist engineering consultancy based in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity for a Scaffold Design Engineer to join a growing business delivering innovative temporary works and scaffold design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK.
The successful Scaffold Design Engineer will work on a wide range of standard, complex and bespoke scaffold designs across sectors including heritage, rail, nuclear, commercial and major infrastructure. This role offers genuine career progression, support towards Chartership and the opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion while working closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Scaffold Design Engineer Job Overview
- Produce scaffold design solutions for a variety of standard, complex and bespoke temporary works projects
- Prepare and review design calculations, technical reports, drawings and design risk assessments
- Ensure buildability, safe construction methods and sequencing are considered throughout the design process
- Manage multiple projects whilst maintaining programme and quality requirements
- Liaise with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams through meetings and site visits
- Provide technical guidance, design checking and mentoring to junior engineers
- Support business development activities, quotations and client relationship management
- Contribute to continuous improvement and technical best practice across the business
Scaffold Design Engineer Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in scaffold design engineering
- HNC or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- Good knowledge of NASC Technical Guidance (TG) and Safety Guidance (SG)
- Understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes and temporary works legislation
- Proficient in AutoCAD, BricsCAD or similar CAD software
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred for site visits
- Practical scaffold erection or supervisory experience
- Experience using 2D and/or 3D structural analysis software
- Experience working with main contractors
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards Chartership
