The Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading global investment bank in London to expand their core Technology Architecture division. The EMEA engineering group is building a high-throughput reference data platform that underpins global capital markets trading and key regulatory reporting. This is a hands-on backend engineering challenge for developers with 2–5 years of experience looking to scale distributed systems, master functional programming, and work with massive metadata layers.

Role Overview

As a Scala Developer, you will contribute directly to the design and delivery of resilient, low-latency reference data components. Your focus will be translating complex technical and regulatory requirements into clean, testable distributed services used across global business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Service Engineering: Develop, test, and maintain robust backend components in Scala supporting enterprise reference data workflows
  • SDLC Ownership: Drive technical deliverables across all software lifecycle stages from requirement analysis and component design through to automated deployment
  • Quality & Test Automation: Implement rigorous unit testing and automated build pipelines to guarantee fault-tolerant platform releases
  • Data Integration: Modernise data processing capabilities using relational database models and big data components

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
