Responsible for scheduling office appointment's, collecting patient information including insurance/demographics and answering questions to the best of your ability.

Responsibilities

  • Able to answer all phone calls within 30 seconds.
  • Obtain demographics and insurance information/verification and enter into the electronic medical record accurately.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with scheduling guidelines and departmental protocols. Obtain accurate reason for visit information.
  • Use scheduling matrix when applicable to assure patients are scheduled in appropriate time frame.
  • Advise patients of scheduled appointment and arrival times. Provide directions if necessary.
  • Triage calls and forward accurate information to clinical staff or provider. Such as but not limited to: reason for call, problems patient may be experiencing, medication patient may be taking, date of future appointment.
  • Responsible to attend department meetings, open and read emails daily, bring to the practice manager any scheduling issues and patient concerns.
  • Ability to multi- task, change priorities, adjust to change and handle stress.
  • Must consistently communicate with patients in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Two years hospital or physician office setting with scheduling experience preferred, knowledge of medical terminology.

High school graduate or equivalent.
