Scheduler - Business Unit: 5106 - Surrey

Location: Guildford

Job Role

Ringway Surrey is looking for a Scheduler to join our team, supporting the effective planning and coordination of highway maintenance and improvement works across the Surrey network. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can confidently manage multiple workstreams while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

As a Scheduler, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing work programmes and permitting activities across the Ringway Surrey contract. You'll work closely with operational teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure works are programmed effectively, compliant with regulations, and delivered with minimal disruption to the highway network.

You will play a critical role in supporting both planned and reactive works, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and operational risks are minimized.

Duties

  • Develop, maintain, and update works schedules and programmes in line with operational requirements.
  • Coordinate customer enquiries, operational requests, and asset management system updates.
  • Ensure all works comply with NRSWA and Traffic Management Act (TMA) requirements.
  • Support operational teams with resource planning and work allocation.
  • Manage permitting activities and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Coordinate reactive and emergency works, including 2-hour and 24-hour response activities.
  • Act as a key point of contact between operational teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Respond to client requests and support wider hub operations.
  • Produce accurate reports and performance data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
