About The Role
This is a dynamic and varied delivery-focused role where no two days are the same. You will support the coordination and delivery of early careers schemes, working closely with the Scheme Delivery Manager, training teams, training providers, internal departments, and learners.
- Contract type: Permanent
- Hours: Full-time 35 hours per week
- Band & Salary: Band 4B £35,582 - £43,400 depending on skills and experience
- Location: Any Network Rail office location.
- Working pattern: Hybrid working: this role permits hybrid working, employees are expected to work from a Network Rail location for 60% of their weekly hours, typically 3 days for full-time roles, pro-rata for part-time.
- Closing date: Friday 2nd October 2026—please note this role may close early in the event of a high number of applications. Late applications may not be accepted.
- Interview dates: Interviews will be held over MS Teams on w/c 12th October.
Please note: regular travel is a significant and essential part of the role. You will be required to travel across the UK to support scheme delivery, attend training events, engage with learners and stakeholders. Flexibility is therefore key, as travel will vary in line with scheme, training, and stakeholder requirements.

As a Scheme Co-ordinator, you will support the effective delivery of apprenticeship and graduate schemes across Network Rail. You will help coordinate training activity, book and organise learning events, communicate with learners and stakeholders, and maintain accurate schedules, records, and progress information. Working closely with the Scheme Delivery Manager, training teams, and providers, you will help keep delivery on track and support learners throughout their development journey.
The role will suit someone who is highly organised, confident communicating with a range of people, and motivated by supporting training, learning, and early careers development.
Your Experience And Skills
What are we looking for?
- Experience of supporting apprenticeship, graduate, training, or early careers programmes.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate training activity, events, schedules, and stakeholder requirements.
- Proven ability to support the delivery of projects, programmes, or learning activity.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly and professionally with learners, training providers, managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work with data, records, and progress information to support reporting, monitoring, and learner follow-up.
- Confidence in managing competing priorities and working to deadlines in a busy delivery environment.
- Working knowledge of Engineering Council UK-SPEC requirements, or a willingness to develop this knowledge.
- Working knowledge of safeguarding and Prevent legislation, or awareness of learner support responsibilities within a training environment.
What could set you apart when applying?
- Experience of working in the rail industry or another safety-critical environment.
- Experience of coordinating or supporting structured learning programmes, apprenticeships, graduate schemes, or technical training.
- Experience of working with training providers, colleges, professional bodies, or internal learning teams.
- Experience of monitoring learner progress, maintaining accurate records, or supporting reporting and quality assurance activity, including ILR data.
- Externally recognised learning and development qualifications, such as CIPD, PGCE, coaching, mentoring, or training-related qualifications.
