We have an opportunity for a Scheme Manager to join our team of 7 across the South East, reporting to a Housing Officer within Sanctuary Independent Living.
This role involves supporting the day-to-day management of a retirement housing scheme for residents aged 55 and over. It is a varied position that combines administration, housing management, resident engagement, and welfare support. Although the role is predominantly lone working, there is strong team support through Microsoft Teams, regular team meetings, and a buddy system, ensuring colleagues remain connected and supported. Managing void properties, lettings and tenancy sign-ups within the scheme, working in partnership with Property Services and Lettings teams to ensure homes are prepared, allocated and let efficiently, providing an excellent customer journey for new residents.
The successful candidate will help manage communal areas, arrange and monitor repairs, liaise with cleaning, gardening, and maintenance contractors, and ensure the scheme is maintained to a high standard. They will also play an important role in building a positive community by hosting coffee mornings, attending resident meetings, and encouraging participation in activities.
A key aspect of the role is supporting vulnerable residents through regular welfare calls and providing a friendly, customer-focused service. Strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to manage a varied workload are essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
