Contributing to a significant amount of the UK’s highways services, this company specialises in providing highways maintenance and management services to both public and private sector clients. In addition to highways maintenance, they cover network management, emergency response services, and traffic management. They have a strong focus on safety, sustainability and innovation, which enables them to deliver services and large-scale, complex projects in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner.
The role
As a Schemes Engineer will be expected to assist the Projects Delivery Manager and Construction Manager in effectively managing and delivering the Schemes/Projects program in Central London.
Your day will include but not be limited to:
- Conducting client feasibility studies and handling all stages from preliminary and detailed designs to on-site builds, final account, and as-built drawings for projects.
- Reviewing detailed designs for buildability in collaboration with designers and subcontractors.
- Ensuring that Traffic Management (TM) drawings are produced and finalized before submission, addressing all stakeholder comments.
- Verifying that projects are constructed according to the approved design and specifications.
- Submit necessary documents (S61, PAA’s, PA, TTRO’s, TMAN) according to client deadlines.
- Coordinating the delivery of the Build Programme.

About you
The successful Schemes Engineer will be strong in encompassing all stages from initial client concept design to detailed design, on-site construction. You will be able to fit into a close knit, hardworking team who are excellent at what they do, and you will need to be comfortable working in a team environment and have finely tuned multi-tasking skills.

Some essentials included below:
- HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering
- Strong highways experience is essential.
- UK drivers licence
- A good knowledge of highways regulations
- Desired Construction Skills Certification Scheme (Skilled Worker or higher)
- An understanding of Chapter 8 Traffic Management and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Work - Specification for Highway Works.
- Familiarity with health and safety practices, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
Pay
Paying between £280.00 - £330.00 per day via Umbrella PAYE
