School Administrator

Post: School Administrator in the Secondary Phase

Salary Scale: Grade E, Points 5-6 (£26,427.00 - £26,847.00 FTE)

Actual Pro Rata Salary: £21,406.40 - £21,746.11 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday 08.15am – 3.45pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

35 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum (term time only with teacher training days)

Aylesford School Warwick are seeking to appoint an organised, professional and approachable School Administrator to join our busy administration team, with particular responsibility for supporting the Secondary Phase.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive clerical and reception support and will act as a first point of contact for pupils, parents and carers, visitors and staff. Working under the direction of the Office Manager, the postholder will help ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the school office and work closely with administration colleagues across both the Primary and Secondary phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing a professional, welcoming and efficient reception service
  • Responding to telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries
  • Maintaining accurate pupil records using SIMS and/or Synergy
  • Supporting attendance administration and first-day calling procedures
  • Assisting with admissions, school communications and parental responses
  • Supporting parents’ evenings, school visits and other events
  • Undertaking general administrative and clerical duties
  • Supporting the wider administration team across the school as required

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience of working in a busy administrative, clerical or customer-facing environment
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office and electronic record-management systems
  • Is organised, accurate and able to prioritise competing demands
  • Remains calm, patient and professional when working under pressure
  • Can handle confidential and personal information sensitively and securely
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

School or education-sector experience and familiarity with systems such as SIMS or Synergy would be advantageous but are not essential.
