Pay Rate: £13.26 per hour
Contract: Maternity Cover
Hours: Full-time, term time - 8.30am - 4.30pm
We are looking for a confident communicator, and someone who enjoys working in a busy school office environment. This is a varied, fast-paced role supporting staff, parents, visitors, and children.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Front Office / Reception
- Answering incoming calls and managing messages
- Greeting parents at the office window
- Providing a helpful and professional first point of contact
- Responding to parent enquiries in person, by phone, and by email
Pupil Support
- Interacting with children throughout the school day
- Providing basic first aid (training can be provided)
- Supporting children who attend the office with questions or issues
Administration
- Using SIMS to update student records, attendance and data (SIMS experience preferred, not essential)
- Completing general admin tasks - filing, printing, emails, data entry
- Updating spreadsheets and maintaining accurate information
- Preparing letters, reports, and communication to parents
- Managing attendance registers and monitoring absences

School Operations
- Organising school trips and events
- Booking coaches
- Preparing lists, collecting forms, chasing permissions
- Liaising with staff, parents, external agencies, and service providers
- Supporting the wider admin team and senior leadership when required
Skills & Experience Required
- Fast learner, able to pick up systems quickly
- Experience with SIMS is highly advantageous
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets)
- Confident speaking with parents, staff, and children
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Able to handle a busy workload and prioritise effectively
- Friendly, calm, and professional manner
- Works well independently and as part of a team

Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) or willingness to complete one
- Must be able to commit until January 2027
- Comfortable working with children and handling first-aid situations
