What You'll Receive
Free CDL Training
- The company provides classroom instruction to help you obtain your CDL Permit.
- Behind the wheel training is provided to prepare you for your road test.
- Support from experienced trainers throughout the process.
Earn While You Train
- Work as a School Bus Aide while completing CDL training.
- Earn $16.00 per hour during monitor hours worked.
Flexible Schedule
- Midday training sessions are designed to work around your bus aide schedule.
- Continue gaining experience while advancing your career.
After You Earn Your CDL
Driver Pay Rates
- Van Driver: $26.00 per hour
- School Bus Driver: $28.50 per hour

- Safely transport passengers according to established schedules and routes
- Help maintain a safe and positive environment for passengers
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, school personnel, and coworkers
- Complete required reports and documentation accurately
- Follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations
At George M. Carroll, many of the passengers we transport have special needs and may require additional care, patience, and support during their ride. Successful candidates are compassionate, dependable, and committed to creating a safe, respectful, and positive experience for every passenger. Training will be provided to help you understand student needs and perform your role with confidence and professionalism.
Qualifications
Application Requirements
- Complete employment application and new hire paperwork
- Pass all required background screenings
Documentation
- Provide valid identification
- Provide three professional references
- Submit residential history as required
Pre Employment Requirements
- Pass a company paid physical examination
- Pass a drug and alcohol screening
- Successfully complete required background investigations

- Climb and descend bus steps
- Move quickly from a seated position
- Operate emergency exits when necessary
- Safely perform passenger evacuation procedures, including moving up to 125 pounds during emergency drills
