Hays Education Recruitment for School Business/Operations Manager

Hays Education are working in partnership with a well-established Multi-Academy Trust in Lancashire to recruit a temporary School Business/Operations Manager for one of their secondary schools. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive leadership team and play a key role in the day-to-day operational running of a busy school environment.

This temporary assignment is expected to continue until early 2027 and would suit an experienced school business professional looking for their next challenge within the education sector.

Your New Role

As School Business Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the school's day-to-day business and operational functions, ensuring the school runs effectively and efficiently. Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team, you will support a range of operational areas including administration, facilities, compliance, health and safety, contracts, procurement, and support staff management.

As part of a Multi-Academy Trust, many of the high-level strategic finance, payroll and HR functions are managed centrally by the Trust's Head Office. This allows you to focus on the operational leadership of the school and supporting the smooth delivery of services across the site.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
