Kettlethorpe High School

Kettlethorpe High School - the last local authority-maintained high school in Wakefield – is looking for a School Business Manager to operate as part of the Senior Leadership Team and take charge of the administrative team that is the school’s backbone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and management of the school’s strategic and business resources.
  • Supporting the school in its primary function of teaching and learning.
  • Operating as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Assisting the Headteacher in achieving objectives identified in the School Improvement Plan.

Skills and Experience

  • A formal business or accounting qualification or other relevant qualification/experience.
  • Experience of budgeting, costing, drafting fund proposals, monitoring contract performance and overseeing recruitment.
  • A high level of commercial acumen and business expertise.
  • A proven track record in project management.
  • An extremely analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to balance conflicting priorities.
  • Line management experience of a large team.
  • Significant experience in financial management including managing budgets, composition of financial reports and monitoring of expenditure.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting complex issues and using judgement to develop long term, sustainable solutions.
  • Experience in communicating complex information both orally and in report writing in a clear, articulate, balanced and succinct way, tailored to the recipient.

Salary

£59,676 - £61,941 per annum.

Contract and Hours

Permanent, full-time, all year round.
