ADVERT: School Business Manager
Lower Farm School
Salary: Grade: 8 SCP: 26-31 (£35,254-£37,612)
37 hrs per week (Term time)
Permanent contract from 1st January 2027
Ideally we would like the successful candidate to start sooner to provide a handover with our current School Business Manager.
Lower Farm Primary is a two form entry school offering places to children from aged 2. There is also an onsite Breakfast & After School Club which is part of our school provision. Lower Farm is a nurturing and continually improving school with a pupil centred focus. This is an opportunity to join our supportive and friendly staff team and play a key role in the school’s continued success.

Purpose:
- To give strategic vision and leadership to all aspects of Budget, Finance, Personnel and Premises
- To lead, operate, maintain the financial procedures and systems of the school
- To function as line manager for all admin staff
- Ensure the school is fully prepared to meet Ofsted personnel requirements through correct recruitment procedures and maintenance of Single Central Record
- To lead, operate and maintain procedures and systems of the school for all aspects of Health & Safety, and Premises Compliance
- To liaise with external parties relating to Service Level Agreements and external auditors
- To liaise with school HR/Personnel and Payroll provider
- Be in attendance at Governor meetings
- To oversee correct data collection and MIS within school and termly production of school census
- To oversee financial management of the Extended Schools Facility

Experience:
- Budget Monitoring and Account Reconciliation
- Managing a range of clerical and administrative duties
- HR and input of information to HR systems
- Health & Safety legislation and how to manage schools safely
The school is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils and expect all staff to share this commitment. The appointment will depend on a successful enhanced DBS clearance, two suitable references and an online search.
