A practical role where every day is different

Do you enjoy fixing problems, working with your hands and taking pride in seeing a job properly finished?

Claires Court is looking for a reliable and experienced Maintenance and Caretaking Operative to join its Estates Team. This hands-on role will suit someone who enjoys variety, uses their initiative and is happy turning their skills to whatever the day brings.

One day you might repair a door, sort out a plumbing problem or assemble furniture. The next could involve safety checks, preparing rooms for an event or helping maintain the grounds and swimming pool.

You will help keep the school’s buildings, grounds and facilities safe, secure and well presented for pupils, staff and visitors.

About The Role

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the school sites, including general repairs, basic plumbing, simple electrical tasks, painting, decorating and carpentry.

You will also support deliveries, room setups, grounds care, site security and routine compliance checks. Occasional out of hours callouts may be required, but these are infrequent and paid as overtime or given back as time off in lieu.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
