School Caretaker
Our client, a reputable primary school located in Huyton, Knowsley, is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join their team as a full-time School Caretaker. This essential role is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the school's facilities, contributing to the overall safety and well-being of the students, staff, and visitors.
About the Role
As the School Caretaker, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, the maintenance and upkeep of the school buildings, grounds, and equipment. This may involve tasks such as carrying out minor repairs, painting and decorating, and ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the premises. Additionally, you will be responsible for the set-up and dismantling of equipment for school events and activities, as well as the monitoring and reporting of any health and safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the school premises, including classrooms, corridors, and communal areas
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as unblocking drains, changing light bulbs, and fixing door handles
- Set up and dismantle equipment for school events, assemblies, and activities
- Monitor and report any health and safety concerns or issues
- Liaise with external contractors and service providers to ensure the smooth operation of the school's facilities
- Assist with the security of the school premises, including locking and unlocking doors and gates
- Perform any other duties as required by the school management team

- Previous experience in a similar caretaker or building maintenance role
- Strong practical skills and the ability to carry out a range of maintenance tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and visitors
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
Salary
The salary for this position is competitive, ranging from £90,000 to £110,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
