About the Role:
We are recruiting for a School Catering Assistant to work within a busy primary school in Burgess Hill. This is a daytime, Monday-to-Friday role supporting the school kitchen team with the preparation and service of meals to pupils and staff.

Duties:

  • Assisting with the preparation of school meals
  • Serving meals to pupils and staff
  • Setting up dining and service areas
  • Supporting the kitchen team during lunch service
  • Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment
  • Cleaning work surfaces, kitchen and dining areas
  • Following food hygiene and allergen procedures
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Requirements:

  • Food Safety Level 2 certificate – essential
  • Allergen Awareness certificate – essential
  • Enhanced DBS preferred
  • Previous catering, kitchen or school-meals experience preferred
  • Good understanding of food hygiene standards
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable working within a school environment
  • Able to work Monday to Friday for the duration of the assignment
