Description

Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term for 2 years

This role is about helping children get safely to school by empowering school crossing guards to be an important and effective part of the school community.

You are responsible for ensuring that school crossing patrols are safe, supportive and confidence building places for students of all ages and ability to develop their independence skills.

As screens hold all our attention and roads get busier there has never been a more important time to ensure a positive energy in the community and a helping hand crossing the road. This role ensures that happens.

It is a unique role that is rewarded with a close connection to the impact being delivered and the families being served.

You will work on site with your team, be office based and based from home in line with flexible and hybrid working policies. This is a full time contract on a two year fixed term.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • A typical day could involve a visit to offer coaching and 121 support to the team and may involve supporting an investigation into any safeguarding concerns or a health and safety incident report.
  • You will hold and attend team meetings being part of the broader, newly established Independence and Transport Service.
  • You will also contribute to strategic preparing for adulthood initiatives and ensure you and your team contribute to how the new service grows.
  • You will work with your direct reports, your management team and stakeholders on a day-to-day basis to ensure you have a strong connection to service delivery.
  • You will build solid team foundations and use the extensive experience within the team of around 20 school crossing guards to learn how to develop this service to achieve outstanding results for those who rely on it.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
