Pertemps Professional Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a council in Greater Manchester for a School Effectiveness Lead - £500 per day
Looking for a senior manager to deliver the strategic outcomes of the School Effectiveness Service Area by leading service delivery, working closely with schools and other Local Authority services across the council.
Role Overview
The School Effectiveness Lead has responsibility to:
- Deliver clear and strong educational messages to all schools that will enable the sector to meet Local Authority priorities, deliver Schools Strategy and promote a high-quality education for all children
- Hold all maintained schools to account in relation to standards, leadership and governance
- Ensure high-quality inclusive practice is promoted in all schools and is developed well across the educational sector
- Ensure that school leaders are supported well to enable them to deliver the highest academic outcomes for all children including those from vulnerable groups
- Deliver locally agreed school improvement activity which will include the enhanced support and challenge for any schools that purchase services from within our portfolio
- Maximise the benefits of our integrated system to promote the highest outcomes for the children and young people
- Ensure all staff working within the service area understand and strive towards our ambition to have the ‘best schools in the country where every child is included in their success’
- Support staff teams across the Local Authority to understand this ambition and work with service leaders to enable them to develop their practice to support it wherever possible.

The post-holder must manage the relationships with school leaders, whilst understanding the wider system to support schools and the Local Authority to deliver an outstanding educational offer for all children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with school leaders and leaders across the education system
Responsibility for the delivery of key pieces of work will include:
- Lead and manage processes to ensure the Local Authority fulfills its statutory duty in respect of Standard Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE)
- Lead and manage aspects of the work from different services to fulfill the requirements of the Armed Forces Covenant for Education Services
- Lead the partnership working to ensure effective delivery of the Early Career Teacher programme across Stockport
- Lead and manage the Anti-Poverty Strategy for Education
- Lead and manage the Whole School Approach to mental health in school
- Lead the partnership working to deliver an effective educational response to wider inclusion issues e.g. anti-racism
- Lead and manage the transition processes between phases across the system
- Lead our system-wide management of Alternative Provision
- Lead, manage and deliver leadership training (for headteachers, subject leaders and Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) and curriculum support for school leaders.
