School Librarian - £24,000 - £27,000 - Permanent - Westminster
A top tier All-Through School in the Borough of Westminster are on the hunt for a Librarian for a September 2026 start. This is a permanent vacancy directly employed through the school with a salary range of £24,000 - £27,000.
As a Librarian, you will ensure that the library is at the heart of school life and plays a central role in developing a culture of reading across the school and community, and drive reading progress. The school know that reading must be at the heart of the school, both in the curriculum and in the way in which they foster a love of reading for pupils throughout their time at school, so they become life-long lovers of reading.

ROLE DETAILS:
- To be responsible for the day to day management of the School's Library within agreed guidelines and procedures.
- To promote the Library, its resources and reading to students and staff.
- To play a major role in co-ordinating the selection of resources for the area, in close consultation with the teaching staff. These will be books and other resources to support learning, including ICT.
- To oversee control of the Library Budget, in consultation with the designated Line Manager.
- To support in the development of literacy including the implementation of Accelerated Reader and running small literacy groups.
- To advise staff on ways that the area can assist and add to students' learning.
- To be responsible for the organisation, classification, processing and allocation of materials.

PERSON DETAILS:
- Maths and English GCSEs to Grade C - Essential
- Right to work in the UK - Essential
- A-Level English or equivalent to Grade C - Desirable
- Recognised professional qualification for librarianship or information management system - Desirable
- Ideally experience working in a Library previously or similar / transferrable experience
- Must be a team player
- Must be willing to go above and beyond daily for pupils
