School Bank Nurse
Location: Maidenhead, SL6 6AW
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Ongoing / As required cover

Are you a qualified nurse looking for a flexible, rewarding role within a school environment? This is an excellent opportunity to support the health and wellbeing of pupils while working as part of a dedicated and supportive team.
About The Role
We are seeking to appoint a qualified School Bank Nurse to provide a clinically effective, high-quality nursing service and first aid support to pupils and the wider school community.
This flexible role is ideal for a knowledgeable, friendly and independent nurse who can remain calm under pressure and deliver excellent care in a busy environment. The position will provide cover when required, supporting the existing nursing team during periods of absence, increased demand or additional support needs. Regular hours may also be available each month to help you become familiar with the school environment and team.
You will play a key role in promoting pupil wellbeing, providing medical support, and ensuring a safe and caring environment for all members of the school community.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in line with the NMC Code.
- Provide first aid and emergency care to pupils, staff and visitors, including pitch-side support where required.
- Assess and triage pupils, prioritising care effectively.
- Support pupils with acute and chronic health needs.
- Provide confidential health advice and signpost to appropriate services.
- Liaise with parents, staff and external healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate medical records in line with GDPR requirements.
- Ensure the safe handling, storage and administration of medicines.
- Maintain medical supplies and emergency equipment.
- Follow infection control procedures and promote health education.
Person Specification
- Qualified nurse with current NMC registration.
- Strong clinical skills, ideally with experience in school, community or paediatric settings.
- Organised, calm and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Friendly, approachable and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing.
