Overview of the Role
Want to shape the future of horticulture? We are looking to recruit a technician to join our supportive and friendly School of Horticulture team.
As School of Horticulture Technician, you will be accountable for:
- Managing the plant identification programmes for learners
- Administrative and practical support for lectures and masterclasses
- Managing the allotment site within the garden to ensure it meets the expected presentation standards and fulfils its function as an assessment site for learners.
- Logistical and administrative support to the team, with key periods around interviews, exams and learner inductions.
You will need to be:
- Qualified to at least RHS Level 3 or equivalent (commensurate experience in lieu of qualifications will be considered)
- Excellent knowledge and experience in general horticulture or relevant support service discipline
- Competent with use of IT packages such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook and ability to maintain an electronic calendar
- Organised and with excellent attention to detail.
- A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, who collaborates and communicates openly with colleagues.
- Able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in a professional manner.
