This is an exciting opportunity in the pivotal role of School Officer in the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. You will be one of four School Officers in the Faculty and will be primarily located in the School of Arts. The School of Arts covers eight disciplines, is located across a number of sites in the north campus area and has a large community of staff and students.
As School Officer you will be a key member of the School Leadership Team, working closely with the Head of School, Deputy Head of School, academic staff and professional services staff based in the School and Faculty Office. It is an important and varied role where you will be responsible for leading the School’s operations team, delivering operational excellence across the School’s operational activities, implementing governance and facilitating the effective management of resources and planning.

The School Officer is also an important member of the Faculty operations team, working with staff across the Faculty and wider university to respond to change, share best practice and deliver continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing administration processes, preferably in a large, complex environment.
- Implementing continuous improvements around structures, processes and systems.
- Possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a range of people, both internal and external to the organisation, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience of staff supervision and ability to lead staff is essential.
