Your expertise will directly shape the future of our Schools Gardening Programme and strengthen how Seeds for Growth charity supports outdoor learning in schools. By reviewing the structure, training model, and curriculum integration of our three-year programme, you will help ensure that teachers, pupils, and families receive a coherent, high-quality, and inspiring nature‑based education offer.
This role will have a significant impact on our organisation. As a small charity working in areas of high deprivation, we rely on well‑designed, evidence‑informed programmes that genuinely meet schools' needs. Your insights will help us refine our CPD content, strengthen our mentoring and coaching structures, and ensure that our approach to small‑group learning, SEND support and emotional regulation is both practical and effective. This will directly improve teachers' confidence in delivering outdoor learning and increase the quality of the experiences children receive.
Your review will also help us embed gardening and nature‑based activities more deeply into everyday curriculum planning. By advising on coherence across our three-year programme, you will support us to create a programme that is easy for schools to adopt, aligns with teaching practice, and offers clear progression for pupils. This will make our work more impactful, more sustainable and more attractive to schools seeking long‑term engagement with outdoor learning.
In addition, your recommendations will guide the development of our emerging Seeds for Growth charity approach — a framework that will shape how we deliver outdoor learning across all our school partnerships. Your input will influence how we train staff, measure impact, and support whole‑school wellbeing through nature‑based education.
The difference you make will extend beyond individual schools. By strengthening programme quality, you will help us build a model that can be shared across communities, support inter‑school collaboration and contribute to wider efforts to reconnect children and families with nature. Your contribution will help us demonstrate impact to funders, partners and stakeholders, enabling us to grow our work and reach more children in the years ahead.

What are we looking for?
Qualities And Experience We Are Looking For
We are seeking a volunteer with a strong educational background and a thoughtful, analytical approach to programme design. The ideal person will have experience in teaching, curriculum development, or whole-school outdoor learning, and will feel confident in reviewing how a multi-year programme supports teaching practice, pupil engagement, and school‑wide participation.
The most important qualities are the ability to look at a programme structure in detail, identify what works well, and offer clear, practical recommendations for improvement. Experience in curriculum planning, CPD design, coaching or mentoring teachers would be particularly valuable, as would familiarity with nature‑based learning, forest school, Steiner/Waldorf approaches, or SEND‑inclusive practice.
We are looking for someone who is reflective, collaborative and supportive in their style — someone who can balance constructive critique with an understanding of the realities teachers face in busy school environments. An interest in wellbeing, emotional regulation, small‑group learning or community engagement would also be helpful.
Above all, we are looking for a volunteer who cares about helping schools make outdoor learning meaningful, sustainable and accessible for all pupils. Your insights will help us strengthen a programme that aims to improve confidence, wellbeing, and connection with nature across communities experiencing high levels of deprivation.

We are looking for a volunteer to examine the programme’s structure, training model, and curriculum integration in detail. You will provide constructive, practical feedback on how our approach supports teaching practice, curriculum delivery, and whole‑school engagement with outdoor garden-based learning.
