School Receptionist / Administrator - Secondary School - Wandsworth

Full Time | Term Time | Immediate Start

Up to £125 per day | Long-Term Role

Long Term Futures are recruiting an experienced School Receptionist / Administrator to join a busy mainstream secondary school in Wandsworth.

The school requires someone who is organised, professional and confident working in a fast-paced school office. You will be one of the first points of contact for parents, pupils, staff and visitors, while also providing essential administrative support across the school.

This is a long-term position available immediately, with the school keen to interview suitable candidates as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the school reception and provide a professional first point of contact
  • Answer and redirect incoming telephone calls and emails
  • Welcome visitors, parents, contractors and external professionals
  • Sign visitors in and follow the school's safeguarding and security procedures
  • Complete general administration including filing, photocopying, scanning and data entry
  • Maintain and update pupil information using SIMS or another school MIS
  • Support with attendance administration, including contacting parents where required
  • Deal with parent and pupil enquiries professionally and sensitively
  • Prepare letters, emails, reports and other school correspondence
  • Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
  • Support with student records and confidential documentation
  • Assist with arranging meetings, appointments and school events
  • Liaise with teaching staff, pastoral teams and senior leadership
  • Provide additional administrative support across the school office when required

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous reception or administration experience
  • School-based administrative experience is highly desirable
  • Experience using SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or another school MIS would be advantageous
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email
  • Excellent telephone and face-to-face communication skills
  • Confidence dealing with parents, pupils and external professionals
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding within a school environment

  • Excellent National Rail connections via Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Town and Earlsfield
  • District Line access through Southfields and East Putney
  • Strong bus connections throughout Wandsworth
  • Accessible from Lambeth, Merton, Richmond, Fulham and surrounding South West London areas
