We are seeking a proactive and organised Receptionist to join our team at Canford School.
Based in the School's Reception building, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and professional first impression for all visitors, pupils, parents, and staff.
This is a busy and varied role that requires excellent interpersonal skills, a positive approach, and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding customer service while helping the School operate efficiently.
About The Role
You'll be involved in:
- Providing a professional and welcoming front-of-house service, managing visitor sign-ins, issuing passes, communicating safeguarding procedures, and ensuring Reception remains organised and presentable.
- Handling incoming calls, emails, and enquiries from parents, visitors, contractors, and the public, ensuring efficient communication and excellent customer service.
- Supporting the smooth running of school operations through record keeping, managing deliveries and post, maintaining databases, and assisting with administrative tasks and projects.
- Following safeguarding and visitor management procedures, maintaining confidential records, supporting health and safety administration, and ensuring compliance with school policies and processes.
- Coordinating the management of keys, access passes, accommodation keys, mobile devices, vehicle hire, and parking permits, ensuring resources are tracked and available when needed.

About You
You'll have:
- Proven experience in reception, hospitality, administration, or other customer-facing roles, delivering a professional and welcoming service.
- Ability to manage telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries effectively, providing excellent service to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience working in a busy environment, successfully managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Understanding of school, education, or public-facing environments, including visitor management, safeguarding, and compliance procedures.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidence using electronic sign-in systems, databases, and administrative software.
