At McLaren High School, we are committed to excellence in education and the holistic development of our young people. With a team of highly professional teaching and support staff, we set high expectations for our pupils, working in partnership with parents to challenge, support, and inspire them. Our school community is built on the core values of Inclusivity, Community, Kindness, and Growth, ensuring that every pupil is empowered to succeed, develop confidence, and become a responsible global citizen. These commitments were recognised when we were named Scottish Secondary School of the Year 2024 by the Sunday Times Parent Power List.
Due to a long-term absence, we are seeking a temporary ICT Technician. You will provide day-to-day ICT support across the school, helping staff and pupils get the most from technology. Duties include: repairing and maintaining Chromebooks and laptops; supporting staff with classroom technology issues; setting up and installing computers and ICT equipment; managing user accounts and carrying out routine system checks. You would also support ICT projects and equipment upgrades across the school.
You will also be required to carry out regular ICT housekeeping ensuring back-ups are run, user accounts are created and removed appropriately. Flexibility will be required from time to time, e.g., to ensure set up for events such as annual awards ceremonies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
