Job Description
School Cleaning Supervisor - Swingate Primary School
Location: Chatham
Salary: £13.62 Per hour
Hours: 15 Hours per week
Medway Norse have an exciting opportunity for a Catering Supervisor to join our team on a permanent basis working 15 hours per week. Working Monday to Friday 15:30 - 18:30
To provide support to manage the building and output specification so that quality and performance meet the operational targets set by the Head of Soft FM. To establish and maintain first class individual working relationships with customers and staff.
Main Responsibilities
- To arrange the provision of cleaners to comply with relevant SLA/contract specification. In the event of not being able to provide from other sources, to carry out duties personally.
- Ensure all site-based staff understand and achieve objectives set by our customer in partnership with Civic Centre building management and are fully aware of the quality, performance and administrative requirements.
- To provide management cover for the cleaning manager during periods of absence.
- To carry out regular site monitoring visits and to complete Health and Safety Reviews at a frequency to be decided by the Head of Soft FM.
- To support the recruitment and appointment of cleaning staff in consultation with Cleaning Manager and clients.
- To personally carry out the initial induction of newly appointed Cleaners and to arrange on-site training with the Civic Buildings Manager.
- To ensure compliance of self and all relevant Medway Cleaning Services staff with Health and Safety Regulations.
- To assist in ensuring the compliance of all contracts in meeting financial, performance and quality targets set by Senior Management.
- To carry out appraisals of site based staff as per Medway Norse policies and procedures.
- To create and maintain written visit reports and to complete any associated administration.
- To check and authorise stock indents, stock returns, overtime claims and timesheets as directed by the Contract Manager.
- To carry out any disciplinary or grievance investigations as directed.

Candidate Requirements

- Knowledge of Manual Handling procedures.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety.
- Experience of cleaning schools/offices/ corporate buildings.
- Experience using cleaning machinery e.g. buffing machine.
- Experience of securing buildings.
- Experience in the supervision of staff.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Good numeracy skills.
- To undertake, if necessary, disciplinary action up to the level delegated as appropriate.
An enhanced DBS check will be required for our successful candidate, payment will be met by the employer
