Science Technician

The Role
As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching staff and students across the Science department. You will be responsible for preparing practical lessons, maintaining equipment and ensuring laboratories remain safe, organised and fully stocked.
Working behind the scenes, you will help create an engaging learning environment that enables students to get the most from their science education.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and setting up equipment, materials and resources for practical science lessons.
- Supporting teachers with demonstrations and practical activities.
- Maintaining laboratories, preparation rooms and equipment.
- Monitoring and replenishing stock levels.
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Safely storing and disposing of chemicals and scientific materials.
- Assisting with displays, resources and departmental organisation.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working within a school science department or laboratory environment is desirable.
- A Science-related degree or relevant qualification would be advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
- A proactive and professional approach to supporting teaching and learning.
