Science Technician

About Us

South Lincolnshire Academies Trust has over 550 teaching and support staff working in the four schools (Bourne Academy, Spalding Academy, Giles Academy and Cowley Academy) that make up our highly successful Trust.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and confident Science Technician to join the Science department at Bourne Academy.

Working as an integral part of the team, the successful candidate will:

  • Be reliable and well organised;
  • Support the teacher in the classroom and assist in the preparation of equipment and preparation of the classroom;
  • Have an understanding and ability to use relevant scientific equipment and solutions;
  • Have an understanding of COSHH would be an advantage;
  • Record, monitor and re-order stock and materials as required;
  • Deliver, check and return stock from the classroom and back to storage;
  • Assist in the development of curriculum resources and other support materials for staff;
  • Support the Head of Department in annual audits;
  • Have experience in a secondary school setting not essential but would be an advantage.
