About the role
ECTRP (European Council on Technology, Research and Practice) is building an international community connecting research, technology, and real-world applications.
We are looking for researchers and professionals interested in contributing to the development of our scientific program and helping shape ECTRP’s conferences, research activities, and interaction between researchers and practitioners.
As a Scientific Program Associate, you will contribute to the development of scientific themes, conference programs, researcher engagement, and related activities. This is an opportunity to help shape an emerging international research organization from an early stage.
The role is fully remote and flexible, and is particularly suitable for researchers, academics, engineers, scientists, and professionals who enjoy working across disciplines.
This is an unpaid, contribution-based role. ECTRP recognizes eligible contributions through Contribution Credits, which may be used toward eligible ECTRP services, including publication fees.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of scientific themes and tracks for ECTRP conferences and research activities.
- Help identify emerging research topics and areas where researchers and practitioners could benefit from greater interaction.
- Support the identification and outreach of researchers, academics, and practitioners who may contribute to ECTRP activities.
- Contribute to the development of conference programs, including potential sessions, topics, speakers, and formats.
- Participate in discussions about the scientific direction and development of ECTRP.
- Help evaluate potential conference themes and research areas from a scientific and interdisciplinary perspective.
- Contribute ideas for making ECTRP conferences and activities more relevant, interactive, and connected to real-world challenges.
- Where appropriate, contribute to peer-review activities, publications, workshops, or other scientific initiatives.
- Collaborate remotely with other ECTRP contributors across different countries and disciplines.

Qualifications
- Academic or professional background in science, engineering, technology, medicine, social sciences, or another research-oriented field.
- Demonstrated interest in research and/or the practical application of research.
- Ability to understand and discuss scientific or technical topics, including outside one’s immediate area of expertise.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and in connecting researchers with practitioners.

Experience with academic conferences, scientific programs, peer review, research communication, or researcher outreach is welcome but not required.

Time commitment
The role is flexible. There is no fixed weekly schedule, and contributors can participate according to their availability and the needs of specific projects.
