JOB DESCRIPTION:
About the Role
We are seeking a Supervisor Scientist to join our Technical Services team. This leadership role is responsible for leading and supervising scientific activities, planning and prioritizing experiments, and ensuring projects are executed according to established timelines and quality standards. The successful candidate will provide leadership to scientific teams while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and compliance within a regulated laboratory environment.
This will be an Office base role at our Manufacturing Site in Dundee.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, prioritize, and oversee scientific studies and experimental activities.
- Supervise and support scientists and laboratory personnel to achieve project objectives and business goals.
- Foster a safe, productive, and engaging work environment that supports employee wellbeing and development.
- Conduct performance management activities, including regular and annual performance reviews.
- Establish clear expectations and promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Project Leads and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
- Coordinate laboratory and technical service activities with other departments to achieve project milestones.
- Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality, communication, and efficiency.
- Monitor and utilize KPIs, metrics, and reports to support decision-making and problem-solving.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Participate in site initiatives and maintain a commitment to professional development and training.
- Support compliance with corporate policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assume additional site responsibilities as required, including Health & Safety or emergency response roles.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a Scientific, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related technical discipline.
- Experience working within a laboratory, technical services, research, development, or manufacturing support environment.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a technical or scientific setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across functions.
- Experience preparing technical documentation, laboratory reports, and quality records.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a regulated industry such as Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Diagnostics, or Biotechnology.
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis methodologies including A3 and DMAIC.
- Experience with Risk Assessments, FMEA, and Risk Management activities.
- Understanding of Process Validation principles and execution.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
- Experience working with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
- Familiarity with CAPA, Change Control, and Quality Management Systems.
- Understanding of ERP systems and operational cost management.
