Job Role

We are seeking a practical and proactive Scientist or Associate Scientist to join our Biologics Analytical Sciences team in Liverpool on a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity cover. The final appointment level will depend on the successful candidate’s knowledge and experience.

This is a hands-on laboratory position focused primarily on HPLC and capillary electrophoresis, supporting the characterisation of complex biological products. You will work on a varied portfolio that may include antibodies, viral vectors such as AAV, and gene therapy-related materials. You may also gain exposure to additional techniques including DLS, LC-MS and other biophysical characterisation methods.

You will join a collaborative team of seven colleagues, including two technical specialists, and receive training on high-end analytical instrumentation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in chromatography who would like to develop broader experience in biologics characterisation within a fast-paced scientific environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
