Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) Health Visiting Programme

Overview

Are you a registered nurse or midwife with at least one year's post-registration experience looking to develop your career in Public Health Nursing?

We are pleased to offer an opportunity to undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) Health Visiting programme, commencing 7 December 2026.

Programme Details

This fully funded 12-month programme will prepare you for autonomous public health practice, supporting children and families and helping to reduce health inequalities. You will receive high-quality practice supervision within our Health Visiting teams and academic support from the University of Greenwich.

As an employed member of the service, you will develop the knowledge and skills required for safe and effective SCPHN practice while working alongside schools, Family Hubs, GP practices and other partner agencies to deliver evidence-based care.

Successful applicants will be salaried throughout the programme, with progression to a substantive Band 6 SCPHN (Health Visitor) role on successful completion.

Your base location will be confirmed following interview and offer. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Application Process

Interview date: 29 October 2026 (in person at a central location).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
