About the Role

VSI works across a wide range of media sectors from streaming platforms, traditional broadcast television, theatrical releases, and gaming.

We are looking for a Production Script Coordinator to join our In-House Production team. The purpose of the script coordination role is to manage the Script Creation process end to end. You will act as a language expert with an understanding of the dubbing process, so you are equipped and encouraged to make creative Script Creation decisions with the project’s best interest in mind.

Key Responsibilities

Script Coordination & Creation

  • Take ownership of the Script Creation process and the communication with the supplier;
  • Resourcing new talent where necessary and checking supplier availability
  • Negotiating rates and securing talent per project
  • Creating and maintaining supplier’s schedules for the turnaround of the materials
  • Managing the project & movement of materials via voice Q Cloud / MAM
  • Providing linguistic guidance
  • Escalating issues / creative flags to a dubbing producer where necessary, especially if there could be an impact on overall project deadlines / costs / client brief
  • Dealing with relevant legal documentation and creating PO’s for supplier invoices
  • Reviewing dubbing adaptations and audio description scripts before recording to ensure full compliance with client specifications
  • Revising adaptations and/or fully adapting dubbing scripts in house
  • Taking the lead on testing and implementing VSI’s proprietary scripting tools

Material Revision (Material checks)

  • Checking media materials as they arrive, and flagging factors that should be considered in quoting or recordings (i.e. different languages or musical segments)
  • Performing a quality-control check on final materials before they are delivered to the client
  • Revising final script to match dialogue changes made in-studio, for projects that require as-recorded materials
  • Keeping a close line of communication with Dubbing Producers to relay relevant material information

Material Preparation

  • Carrying out a word and character count for scripts
  • Converting scripts and production materials into appropriate formats when necessary
  • Ensuring formatting and technical specifications
  • Assisting with script insertion into Voice Q as needed
  • Creation of an Edit Decision List for Trailer edits/conforms

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Native or high-level English proficiency
  • Technical and creative understanding of the production process and tools
  • Strong organisation, time management, and planning skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritise, and work well both independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of entertainment media, other languages, and a linguistic or creative background are a plus
