Electrify is a dynamic new digital media company that invests in and scales creators with an established YouTube presence. We have invested in various leading channels and Astrum Earth is one of the leading channels in our portfolio.
Astrum Earth is the sister channel to YouTube channel Astrum, focused on the most extraordinary planet in the universe: our own. We dive into complex topics from geology to climate cycles, and from dinosaurs to the deep sea, exploring the science behind some of the planet’s greatest mysteries and wonders with rigorous research and intriguing answers.

About the role
Astrum Earth is growing fast, and now we are searching for a talented science graduate to join our remote, digital team as a researcher and writer. If you have a passion for Earth sciences, an eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Fact checking scripts, animations and edits for long form and short form YouTube videos covering topics such as geology, meteorology, paleontology, and other related subjects.
- Providing lists of reference material for scripts
- Feeding back to script writers and editors including suggestions for improvements or additional information.
- Sourcing relevant images and video footage for edits
- Locating and obtaining high-quality images and video clips from reputable sources such as scientific institutions, and stock footage libraries.
- Verifying the authenticity and accuracy of visual content to ensure it correctly represents the topics discussed in the videos.
- Ensuring all sourced material complies with copyright laws and usage rights.
- Collaborating with the video production team to ensure the selected visuals enhance the narrative and educational value of the content.
- Researching for existing and new ideas
- Researching and writing scripts for Astrum Earth

Skills and experience
- A strong background or degree in science, physics, geology, paleontology, or other related fields.
- Writing experience. i.e. science articles, blogs, copy writing, newsletters, magazines, scripts etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and well-developed critical analysis skills
- Interest or experience in science communication and public outreach
- Passion for geology, meteorology, palaeontology, and science in general
Desirable
- Interest in or experience in YouTube video production
- Experience finding archive to illustrate scientific concepts

What we offer

- Salary: $39,000 - $43000 USD (depending on experience. This will be converted into the currency of where you are based)
