Scrum Master – Claims Technology Transformation
Location: London
Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 to 3 days onsite)
Employment Type: Permanent

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join a growing technology team and support the transformation and delivery of Claims technology solutions.
This is a hands-on Agile delivery role for someone who can do more than facilitate ceremonies. You will work closely with Product Owners, Delivery Leads, Business Analysts, Engineers, and Technical Leads to help teams deliver business value, remove impediments, and continuously improve how they work.
The ideal candidate will be confident working in a complex corporate environment, comfortable challenging stakeholders when required, and able to bring structure and transparency to technology delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Coach Scrum teams and Product Owners on Agile and Scrum principles, practices, and ways of working.
- Support Product Owners with backlog creation, refinement, prioritization, and objectives.
- Lead and support PI Planning / Programme Increment planning and help teams prepare for planning events.
- Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Technical Leads to create delivery plans and track progress against objectives.
- Proactively identify, manage, and remove blockers and impediments.
- Encourage teams to become more self-organizing, autonomous, and accountable.
- Challenge Agile anti-patterns and drive continuous improvement.
- Improve transparency across teams through effective communication, reporting, and Agile metrics.
- Support delivery across multiple teams and distributed/offshore resources.
- Work with technical teams where multiple applications or platforms require integration and coordinated delivery.
- Help create a trusting environment where issues can be raised openly and resolved constructively.
- Support wider planning activities, including quarterly planning and portfolio reviews.
- Use data, reporting, and AI-enabled tools where appropriate to improve productivity, reporting, and delivery efficiency.
- Help embed new ways of working as the technology portfolio continues to grow.

About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience working as a Scrum Master, Senior Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or Delivery Manager.
- Strong practical knowledge of Scrum and Agile delivery.
- Proven experience supporting PI Planning / Programme Increment planning.
- Experience coaching Product Owners and Agile teams.
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and conflict-resolution skills.
- The confidence to challenge, ask difficult questions, and proactively address delivery issues.
- Experience working within large or complex corporate environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery metrics such as Velocity and Burndown.
- Experience with JIRA or similar Agile delivery tools.
- Understanding of Agile approaches including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
- Good understanding of technology delivery and the way software development teams operate.
Technical / Delivery Background
Candidates with a previous background as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Business Analyst, or Technical Lead before moving into Scrum Master / Agile delivery would be particularly valuable.
You should be comfortable having meaningful conversations with Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Technical Leads, rather than simply managing Jira tickets.
Experience working with application integration, technical dependencies, or distributed/offshore development teams would also be beneficial.

Industry Experience
Experience within Insurance or Financial Services would be advantageous, particularly:
- London Market
- Reinsurance
- Commercial Insurance
- Specialty Insurance
- Claims
- Banking / Financial Services
Direct insurance experience is preferred but not essential for the right Agile delivery professional.
AI & Innovation
We are looking for people who are interested in how AI and new technologies can improve technology delivery and team productivity.
Previous experience using AI for reporting, analysis, automation, or productivity would be an advantage, but training and support can be provided.
