The Regional Finance Development Manager is responsible for the management of Retail and Wholesale revenues, within their appointed region, with the aim of exceeding performance, quality, and service-related objectives.
Reporting directly to the Senior Sales Partner, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of trading relationships, primarily with motorcycle retailers, either as an OEM finance partner, or on a non-franchise basis. Where required this will involve working closely with our manufacturer partners to secure mutual objectives. The ideal candidate should reside in the given territory.
The successful candidate will be allocated a company car to carry out their duties. Consequently, the successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence and full UK motorcycle licence.
What You’ll Be Doing
Sales & Account Management
- Ensure retailer loyalty is maintained, with recommended strategies developed to maximise sales volumes through increased finance penetration
- Be proactive in developing the finance performance of retailers within your assigned region
- Manage prospecting / renewals activity within the region
- Develop consultative, valued, and successful relationships at all levels within retailers
- Lead and support development of a sales business plan for all assigned supporting businesses
- Assist the risk team to manage the company's exposure via close monitoring of retailer performance
Margin & Profit Management
- Conduct regular detailed oversight and performance reviews with relevant management teams as required, analysing performance to identify best practice, initiate process improvements, increase sales and profitability, whilst managing regulatory oversight and compliance across the retailer.
- Support line management in job-specific project work as required
- Negotiate retailer terms packages and related objectives as required
Dealer Sales Skills Management
- Provide coaching to retailer sales teams and management to help improve related sales performance
- Implement Finance-driven trade cycle management processes within each retailer
- Identify key development areas and engage the wider resources of Santander to support.
Key Relationships:
- Liaise with our manufacturer partner Area Managers to jointly develop network relationships
- Monitor retailer stock profile and provide finance-based solutions to drive stock turn and sales
- Participate in presentations and negotiations as required
- Liaise with the Risk Department to assist in the preparation of wholesale credit submissions

Conduct Risk:
- Ensure that supporting retailer partners are promoting and selling finance compliantly within regulatory guidelines determined by the Financial Conduct Authority
- Deal with or escalate any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policies and/or legislative and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the Santander UK group risk framework
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience of working in a sales and targets environment within the Motor Finance Industry
- Excellent and proven track record of achieving sales targets
- Previous experience within the leisure industry (motorcycle, recreational/utility vehicle, watercraft) either as a successful Sales Executive and/or finance specialist
- An in-depth knowledge of retail finance and associated products
- Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
- Strong relationship management skills
- Proven ability to communicate via different methods at all levels
- Strong numerical, presentation, and influencing skills
- Sound knowledge of distribution channels and consumer legislation
- The successful candidate will live in or be prepared to move to the specified region
- Experience of a controlled sales process within a dealership environment
- Coaching or training experience
- Thorough understanding of relevant regulatory requirements e.g. FCA, Finance
- Awareness and knowledge of external marketplace; organisational structures, products etc.
- Possess first-class written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with and present to both internal and external stakeholders across all levels of the business.
- Must be an excellent team player with the ability to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and business partners
