Job Title: Vehicle Inspector

About the Role
Santander Consumer Finance, one of the UK’s leading motor finance companies, is seeking a Vehicle Inspector to perform comprehensive vehicle inspections that accurately assess the condition, compliance, and roadworthiness of returned vehicles, ensuring they meet BVRLA standards. This role supports the effective management of vehicle remarketing operations by maintaining accurate inspection records, ensuring efficient vehicle movements, and compound management. The role also provides operational support, including the collection and delivery of vehicles to customers, dealerships, repair centers, and other business locations.

Responsibilities

Vehicle Inspections
- Carry out accurate and detailed vehicle inspections in accordance with BVRLA fair wear and tear criteria.
- Validate service history, interior condition, tyre tread depths, windscreen condition, bodywork condition, MOT, and RFL data.
- Complete inspections within 72 hours.

Maintain Compound & Vehicle Locations
- Responsible for maintaining the yard, moving vehicles as required, ensuring all vehicles are parked correctly, and conducting regular stock checks.

Off-site Vehicle Inspections
- Perform vehicle inspections at customers' locations when necessary.
- CLM will provide transport, fuel, and cover any related expenses.

Vehicle Delivery & Collection
- Deliver or collect vehicles to and from customers, dealerships, repair centers, auction sites, or other business locations.
- Conduct deliveries and collections safely, professionally, and in accordance with company policies.

Adhering to Consumer Duty
- Ensure the needs of customers are prioritized and higher standards of consumer protection are set.
Requirements
- Full Clean UK Driving License
- Previous experience in vehicle inspections
- Knowledge of BVRLA Fair Wear & Tear Standards is desirable
- Understanding of vehicle body repair techniques and damage identification is desirable
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload in a fast-paced operational environment
- Experience in compound management is desirable
