Contract Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Location: Farnborough
Salary: £27,000-£30,000 (Flexible) + performance-based bonus
Permanent- Hybrid

Ready to turn your sales ability into a career in recruitment?

We’re growing our Contract division at Energi People and looking for an ambitious, energetic Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help us open doors and create new opportunities across the booming Data Centre market in the UK and Europe.

This isn’t a delivery or candidate sourcing role. It’s pure sales.

Your focus will be simple: get into the market, start conversations, build relationships and uncover contract hiring opportunities for our experienced recruitment team. If you love the buzz of winning new business, enjoy a target-driven environment and aren’t afraid to pick up the phone, this could be a brilliant opportunity to take your sales career in a new direction.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be at the front end of our Contract business, helping us identify where the next opportunity is coming from.

You'll be:

  • Identifying and approaching new clients across the UK and European Data Centre market
  • Speaking with businesses to uncover upcoming projects and contract hiring requirements
  • Building genuine relationships with both new and existing clients
  • Using calls, email and LinkedIn to get in front of the right people
  • Qualifying new opportunities before working alongside our Contract delivery team to fill them
  • Developing your own pipeline and keeping on top of opportunities through our CRM
  • Working towards clear targets, with the opportunity to see the direct impact of your success

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Who are we looking for?

Recruitment experience isn't essential.

We're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, energy and commercial mindset. You could already be working in sales, business development or an SDR role and wondering what your next step looks like. You'll probably enjoy this role if you're:

  • Naturally competitive and motivated by achieving targets
  • Confident starting conversations with new people
  • Comfortable picking up the phone and creating opportunities from scratch
  • Resilient enough to handle the inevitable "no" and go after the next "yes"
  • Commercially minded and good at building relationships
  • Curious and keen to learn about the Data Centre and wider technical markets
  • Looking for a genuine career path into recruitment and business development
