Role Overview
The Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist is part of the Operational Care Centre (OCC) and is responsible for the timely processing of operational tasks through Business Process Automation (BPA); including customs clearance preparation, booking insurance, preparing import shipment files, maintaining accurate data for customer reporting, and completing new customer onboardings. The role works closely with Customer Care Locations (CCL) to ensure service excellence and operational compliance.
How You Create Impact
Operational / Tactical Duties
- Complete import clearance tasks.
- Support new customer onboarding, system business profile updates, and discussions with CCL as required.
- Maintain allocated BPA tasks within required timeframes.
- Assist with customer implementations and the rollout of new systems and technologies.
Leadership Responsibility
- Support onboarding, training, and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Promote compliance, continuous improvement, and best practices.
- Contribute to team performance through collaboration and appropriate escalation of operational issues.

Financial Responsibility
- Minimise preventable losses through timely completion of tasks.
- Ensure accurate shipment costing updates where required.
- Support operational profitability through effective financial awareness.
Strategic Responsibility
- Support continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and service delivery across OCC processes.
- Promote KN standards, compliance requirements, and best practices while supporting business growth and customer success.
What We Would Like You to Bring
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding processes and sea logistics operations.
- Working knowledge of customs requirements, shipment methods, and Incoterms.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management.
- Good commercial awareness and financial understanding.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
