Seafront General Assistant

Join our Seafront Team | Working for BCP

The pay range for this role will be £12.61 per hour

Role Purpose

You will be required to assist across a number of seafront functions and commercial activities. This is a challenging but rewarding role suited to candidates looking to work in a highly dynamic and varied role with a customer delivery focus. Applicants must be available to start their new role from 16th March 2026

Main Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team and independently as required using your own initiative
  • Work proactively with all members of the public and the wider team, including external agencies and contractors
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to providing a safe, clean and inclusive seafront is essential
  • Engage with the public on public-safety and environmental issues such as litter
  • Provide tourist information
  • Enforcement of Seafront Bylaws
  • Collect payments
  • Maximise income
  • Enhance visitor experience

Role

As no two days are the same, the dynamic nature of the role means a flexible approach is crucial to ensure the appropriate level of support is given to all functions across BCP Seafront Operations, including, but not limited to:

The Ideal Candidate

  • Some experience of dealing with the public and customers
  • Knowledge of the detailed instructions, processes and procedures to be followed
  • Some knowledge of the seafront area, attractions, and services available
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to customer requests
  • Ability to communicate with the public and colleagues in a clear and courteous manner
