The Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Seamer Service Engineer to join our growing team. This is a full-time, field-based role involving travel to customer sites to provide technical support, maintenance, fault diagnosis, machine optimisation, and repair services for can seaming equipment. You will work independently at customer locations while also collaborating closely with the wider Seam Logic team to ensure customers receive a professional, responsive, and technically excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults on can seamers and associated equipment.
- Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Completing mechanical repairs, adjustments, servicing, and component replacement.
- Conducting detailed machine audits and condition assessments.
- Supporting and carrying out target set procedures to optimise machine performance and seam quality.
- Responding to customer breakdowns and providing technical troubleshooting support.
- Providing both on-site and remote technical assistance.
- Identifying machine defects, wear, and opportunities for improvement.
- Producing clear and professional service reports following site visits.
- Supporting equipment setup, commissioning, and performance optimisation where required.
- Providing guidance and practical training to customer operators and engineering personnel.
- Maintaining company tools, equipment, spare parts, and vehicle inventory.
- Working closely with customers and the wider Seam Logic engineering team.
- Managing your workload, travel, and customer commitments effectively.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and professionalism at all customer sites.

About You
We are looking for someone with strong practical engineering ability who is comfortable working independently in customer-facing environments. The successful candidate should have:
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to diagnose faults logically and efficiently.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery.
- Experience working with rotating machinery, packaging equipment, production-line equipment, or similar systems.
- Previous field service or customer-site engineering experience.
- Experience with equipment setup, adjustment, servicing, and performance optimisation.
- The ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and engineering documentation.
- Confidence using diagnostic equipment, tools, and relevant software.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- A professional and customer-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A willingness to travel regularly across the UK and Europe as required.
- A strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and engineering standards.

A qualification or background in mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, or maintenance engineering would be beneficial, although equivalent hands-on industrial experience will also be considered. Previous experience within the food and beverage, packaging, canning, or can seaming industries would be a significant advantage.
