Sports Marine is looking for a Marine Technician to join our Christchurch service team.
We are a family-owned marine dealership established in 1978, representing brands including Sea Ray, Princess, Nimbus, Chris-Craft and Saxdor. This is a varied, hands-on role working across boat servicing, repairs, fit-outs and preparation.
The Role
Your Work Will Include
- Servicing and repairing outboard and sterndrive engines
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Installing engines, electronics and marine equipment
- Carrying out boat and trailer repairs and maintenance
- Preparing new boats for delivery
- Refurbishing and preparing trade-in boats for sale
- Gelcoat, fibreglass, welding or fabrication work where your skills allow
- Dealing directly with customers when required

About You
Ideally, you will have experience as a marine technician, marine mechanic or in a related trade. However, we are also interested in experienced automotive mechanics, panel beaters, fabricators or boat builders who want to move into the marine industry.
You Will Need To Be
- Mechanically capable and confident using tools
- Reliable and able to work without constant supervision
- Thorough, practical and proud of the standard of your work
- Comfortable working across a varied range of jobs
- Able to communicate professionally with customers and the wider team
- Interested in boats and the marine industry

Relevant marine experience would be an advantage, but training can be provided for someone with the right mechanical background and attitude.
