About Us

Ambitious marketing for ambitious people

We are the marketing team for entrepreneurs, owner-managers and private capital. Acting as an extension of our clients' marketing teams and, in most cases, as their entire in-house marketing team we have a track record of using marketing to scale fast. Our clients are ambitious SMEs, typically turning over £350k and up, with plans to scale several times over.

We adopt a scientific approach to marketing. We start at the bottom of the funnel, capturing demand that already exists, then building demand in a way that works commercially for the business. We adopt a digital-first approach to delivery, using digital tools, automation and AI to amplify accelerate impact. It works: we've helped grow a storage company from a single store in 2018 to a 30+ location national network that has attracted $250m of institutional investment.

We are now expanding our in-house team and this role is a foundational hire within it.

The Role

As SEO Specialist, you own organic search performance across our client portfolio, spanning technical SEO, link acquisition and content optimisation. It's a broad, hands-on role: one week you might be untangling a crawl budget problem or specifying structured data for our Web Developer; the next you're running an outreach campaign or rebuilding the local search presence of a 30-location national network.

You'll report to the Agency Director and work closely with our Web Developer (who implements what you specify) and our copywriter (who produce what you brief). You'll join a focused weekly channel catch-up to set direction, then own the delivery. When it comes to AI, we're using AI to significantly accelerate our workflows while retaining full human oversight to ensure we deliver quality services that retain that essential human touch. We also believe in human-generated content.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

One thing we're deliberate about is who we hire. We're a small team, so how you work matters to us as much as what you deliver: we look for smart, conscientious, genuinely nice people who support the colleagues around them and take pride in doing things properly. You must be an effective communicator and be willing to pick up the phone to or jump on a video call with clients. If that describes you, you'll be at home here. At the end of each day we want you to feel like you've given your brain a real work out, delivered results and had a great time doing it!

Key Responsibilities

  • Own organic search strategy and performance across the client portfolio, from audit to results
  • Run in-depth technical audits (Screaming Frog, Semrush, Ahrefs) and turn findings into prioritised, actionable tickets
  • Work with our Web Developer to implement fixes across site architecture, indexability, Core Web Vitals, structured data and crawlability
  • Lead local SEO for multi-location clients: location pages, Google Business Profiles, citations and review strategy
  • Drive content optimisation: keyword and intent research, content briefs, on-page optimisation and internal linking, with full writing handled by our copywriter
  • Plan and deliver link acquisition campaigns: outreach, partnerships, resource-led content and local citations, with protected time each week to avoid off-page work becoming an afterthought
  • Monitor and manage backlink profiles across the portfolio
  • Track and grow visibility in AI search including within ChatGPT, AI Overviews and whatever comes next, alongside traditional rankings, and help shape our approach as the landscape shifts
  • Own organic measurement through GA4, Search Console and GTM, reporting on rankings, traffic and conversions in plain English for clients
  • Contribute audits and organic forecasts to new business proposals

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience covering both technical and off-page work, ideally across multiple sites or clients
  • Fluency with the standard toolkit: Screaming Frog, Semrush or Ahrefs, GA4, Search Console and Tag Manager
  • Enough technical depth to speak precisely with a developer; you don't need to write the code, but you do need to specify what it needs to achieve well
  • Proven link-building or digital PR experience: you've done outreach yourself and secured links you're proud of
  • A clear, jargon-free communication style and able to explain why a canonical tag matters to someone who doesn’t know!
  • Driven curiosity about where search is going, including AI assistants and answer engines
  • Conscientiousness: you care that things are done properly, even when nobody is checking
  • A supportive way of working: generous with your knowledge, straightforward and good to be around
  • The discipline part-time working takes: you organise your own week, document as you go, communicate asynchronously, and deliver inside 22.5 focused hours

  • Holiday calculated in hours (the pro-rated equivalent of 5.6 weeks including bank holidays), so whichever days you work are treated fairly
  • Our current benefits include:
    • The option to purchase up to 5 days of extra holiday (pro-rata)
    • Work from the EU for up to 10 working days every year (pro-rata)
