SEO Manager

London – 2 days per week
£65,000 per annum

The SEO Manager at the client is responsible for enhancing organic visibility and driving sustainable digital growth by leading keyword expansion, technical SEO/GEO, and content optimisation initiatives. The role oversees owned and earned media efforts, manages relationships with external agencies, and ensures continuous performance improvements across our digital channels. This position plays a pivotal role in aligning SEO and GEO/AIO strategies with broader marketing and business objectives to maximise discoverability and strengthen search engine performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive SEO and GEO/AIO strategies for owned media, covering on-page, off-page, and technical capabilities in line with business goals.
  • Lead data-driven SEO and GEO performance analysis to identify opportunities, monitor KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to enhance organic visibility and website performance.
  • Drive keyword strategy and content optimisation through in-depth research and content recommendations to deliver search focused, user-centred digital experiences.
  • Optimise technical SEO excellence by reviewing Search Console insights, validating technical fixes, optimising site speed and structure, and ensuring best practice implementation.
  • Oversee tracking and analytics implementation, ensuring GTM event coverage, data quality validation, and robust funnel and behavioural measurement across GA4 and reporting tools.
  • Manage collaboration with external agencies and vendors to deliver SEO/GEO campaigns, technical audits, link building initiatives, and performance improvements aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Partner with web product management, marketing, and engineering teams to implement SEO/GEO recommendations, embed best practices, and ensure optimisation is integrated across the digital experience.
  • Contribute to the ongoing SEO/GEO roadmap by staying ahead of industry developments, algorithm updates, and emerging technologies to proactively identify opportunities for optimisation and growth.

Core Competencies

  • Deep expertise in on page, off page, and technical SEO/GEO, with the ability to design and execute high impact optimisation strategies.
  • Proven experience managing SEO/GEO campaigns end-to-end and collaborating effectively with external agencies and cross functional teams.
  • Strong analytical capability and proficiency in leading SEO/GEO and analytics tools (e.g. SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, GA4) enabling data informed decision making.
  • Solid understanding of website architecture, technical performance factors, and UX principles, with the ability to identify and resolve SEO/GEO issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex SEO/GEO and technical insights into clear, actionable recommendation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities effectively within a fast-moving environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align SEO/GEO initiatives to broader commercial objectives, supporting long term digital growth and competitiveness.

Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience leading SEO/GEO initiatives in B2B, eCommerce, or high-performance digital environments, with a track record of improving organic rankings, traffic, and conversions.
  • Strong technical SEO/GEO expertise, including site architecture, schema markup, speed optimisation, mobile performance, and identification/resolution of technical issues.
  • Proficiency with major SEO/GEO and analytics platforms, such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics/GA4, and associated research and reporting tools.
  • Skilled in keyword research, competitor analysis, website audits, and content optimisation, with strong understanding of UX and its impact on search performance.
  • Experience managing external SEO/GEO agencies/vendors and collaborating cross functionally with web product management, development, and marketing stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret both qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision making, supported by strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Formal qualifications in marketing or a related field, supported by relevant SEO/GEO certifications and hands-on experience with CMS platforms, HTML/CSS, and modern SEO/GEO experimentation practices.
