Seasonal Bulk Driver – Loader

AvantiGas is looking for a driven Seasonal Bulk Driver – Loader to join our national driver team. You will play a vital role in AvantiGas's distribution operation, ensuring deliveries are carried out in a safe, efficient, cost-effective and courteous way.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in safety and customer service, thrives working independently out on the road, and can stay calm and reliable under the pressure of a fast-paced seasonal operation.
What You Will Be Doing
- Carry out daily scheduled vehicle checks before and after deliveries, logging and reporting any damage or defects.
- Ensure compliance with UK transport legislation on tachographs, driving hours and records.
- Check that customer sites meet safety, signage and housekeeping standards, reporting using our prescribed format.
- Keep Logistics Planners updated on delays, disruptions and any over- or under-stock vehicle situations.
- Carry the documentation confirming your competence and authorisation to drive company vehicles, and ensure vehicles display the required HAZCHEM signs and instructions.
- Produce a properly completed meter ticket showing the quantity of gas delivered, obtaining a customer signature as proof of delivery wherever possible.
- Load and discharge vehicles safely in line with prescribed HSE standards, ensuring no customer tank is filled beyond 85% of capacity.
- Support and cover on-call arrangements, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Report any competitor activity you come across to the Area Operations Supervisor.
- Take part in training as required to help you carry out your role.

What We Are Looking For
Functional:
- Full UK driving licence, including authorisation for the category of vehicle to be driven.
- Current ADR licence, including Core, Tanks & Class 2.
- Understanding of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
- Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Understanding of HSE risks, emergency procedures, escape routes and fire prevention conditions.
- Understanding of incident reporting and safe operating procedures.
