Join us for the spring season


Farming Partners is recruiting for several seasonal positions for our 2027 spring block-calving season in the Dumfries area.

We have opportunities for experienced people as well as those looking to build their dairy and calf-rearing experience.

Most positions will start around mid-January, with the option of working through to either mid-April or mid-June, depending on the role.

Accommodation is provided.


Experienced Senior Calf Rearer

We're looking for an experienced calf rearer to join the team at Garrel Dairy, helping to rear 1,000+ calves during our busy spring season.

You'll work as part of a team, taking responsibility for maintaining excellent standards of calf health, nutrition, hygiene, and welfare.

Previous Experience Of Large-scale/block-calving Calf Rearing Is Essential.

This would suit someone who knows what a busy spring looks like, enjoys working with youngstock, and can bring experience and confidence to the team.


Junior Calf Rearers

We're also looking for Junior Calf Rearers to join the calf-rearing team at Garrel Dairy.

You'll be part of the team caring for 1,000+ calves, with the opportunity to work alongside experienced people and develop your practical calf-rearing skills.

Calf Rearer – 500 Calves

We're looking for a Calf Rearer to join one of our dairy farm teams, helping care for approximately 500 calves through the spring.

You'll be involved in the day-to-day feeding, care, health, and welfare of the calves and will work closely with the wider farm team.

Previous Calf-rearing Or Livestock Experience Would Be Useful.


Experienced Night Calvers – 4–6 Weeks

We're looking for experienced Night Calvers to cover the busiest 4–6 weeks of spring block calving.

You'll take responsibility for the calving herd overnight, monitoring cows, assisting with calvings where required, and ensuring both cows and newborn calves receive the right care.

You'll need to be confident working independently and making good decisions during the night.

Previous Block-calving And Calving Experience Is Essential.
