Second Line Desktop Support - Onsite Role - Owner Driver Essential
This is a fully site-based field role. You must be willing and able to travel to customer sites daily and be located within approximately one hour's commute of Woking.
About the Role
Are you an experienced IT Support professional who enjoys solving problems, working directly with users, and providing exceptional customer service?
We are seeking a motivated and capable Second Line IT Field Technician to provide onsite technical support across a portfolio of sites within commuting distance of Woking. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and professional technology services organisation where you will play a key role in maintaining and improving IT services for end users.
Working independently and as part of a wider technical team, you will troubleshoot issues, support infrastructure and end-user devices, and ensure customers receive a responsive and high-quality IT support experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite Second Line IT support for hardware, software and network-related issues
- Install, configure and maintain IT equipment, systems and peripherals
- Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls
- Support and monitor network infrastructure including VPNs, LANs, DNS and firewalls
- Assist with Microsoft 365, Intune and cloud-based technologies
- Record, manage and resolve incidents through the service desk system
- Carry out software deployments, upgrades and system updates
- Perform routine maintenance, backup and housekeeping activities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver technical projects and service improvements
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with staff

Essential Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Level 4 IT qualification (or equivalent industry-recognised qualification)
- Demonstrable experience using Microsoft Intune
- Minimum of two years' experience in a Second Line IT support or field-based support role
- Strong experience supporting:
- Windows Server
- Microsoft 365
- Google Workspace
- Windows operating systems
- Android devices
- iOS devices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Hardware installation, configuration and diagnostics experience
- Knowledge of networking technologies including VPNs, LANs, DNS and firewalls
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Methodical and organised approach to work
- Full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points
- Access to your own vehicle for business travel
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to commute to sites within approximately one hour of Woking
