Online Secondary Business Studies Teacher
Location: Remote / Online.
Working Days: Monday to Thursday.
School Hours: 9:00am to 3:30pm.
Teaching Hours: 4 hours per week.
Contract: Self Employed.
Salary: Up to £35 per hour, dependent on experience.
Start Date: September 2026
MZ Talent Group is recruiting an experienced Secondary Business Studies Teacher to deliver high quality online teaching to Year 10 and Year 11 students.
This is a part-time, self-employed position suited to an experienced secondary teacher who is confident delivering engaging and structured lessons within a virtual classroom environment.
Teaching Commitment
- Year 10: 2 hours per week.
- Year 11: 2 hours per week.
- Total teaching commitment: 4 hours per week.
- Lessons scheduled: Monday to Thursday.
- Lessons delivered: within school hours of 9:00am to 3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured Business Studies lessons to Year 10 and Year 11 students.
- Plan and prepare lessons appropriate to the curriculum and students' learning needs.
- Deliver lessons effectively within a live virtual classroom environment.
- Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Maintain high standards of student engagement, behaviour and participation online.
- Complete required student reports and contribute to parent meetings.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents and the wider academic team.
- Act as a positive role model and maintain high professional and safeguarding standards.

Essential Requirements
- PGCE with QTS.
- Minimum of 5 years' working in a British School, teaching Pearson Edexcel.
- At least 3 months' experience teaching live virtual or online classes.
- Strong experience teaching Secondary Business Studies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident using online teaching platforms and digital learning resources.
- Strong classroom management skills within an online environment.
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
Technical Requirements
- Reliable high-speed internet connection suitable for live online teaching.
- Stable connection capable of supporting uninterrupted video lessons.
- Access to a laptop or desktop computer with a working webcam and microphone.
- Quiet and professional teaching environment with minimal background noise or interruptions.
- Confidence using virtual learning platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Classroom or similar.
- Backup internet connection, such as mobile data, is preferred in case of disruption.

Person Specification

Package
- Salary up to £35 per hour, dependent on experience.
- 12 months' pay, meaning contracted teaching hours continue to be paid during school holidays.
- One additional week's pay allocated for student reporting and parent meetings.
- Meetings paid for.
- Fully remote role.
- 4 teaching hours per week.
- Monday to Thursday school timetable.
- Self-employed contract.
Please note: Applicants must hold a valid PGCE with QTS and must be able to provide a satisfactory Enhanced DBS appropriate to the role. Applicants with an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service are preferred.
