Secondary Design Engineer
The Secondary Design Engineer will be part of a geographically diverse team of designers, subcontractors, engineers, and project teams working on protection and control schematics and substation equipment. This role provides a high-level overview of design and fosters collaboration with multiple teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical guarantor for ensuring proper performance of design work within your area of responsibility, including adherence to design budget (man days) and customer expectations.
- Plan basic and detailed design activities, deliver engineering documentation required for procurement, manufacturing, and site erection, based on customer specifications, internal standards, and project requirements.
- Establish:
- Single-Line Diagrams (SLD)
- Control Logic Diagrams (KLD)
- Auxiliary (AUX SLD)
- 3-Line Diagrams (3LD) for the Basic Design Package.
- Evaluate engineering workload and deliverable timelines alongside Project Execution Managers (PEM) or Project Managers (PM), committing to both budgets and deadlines.
- Ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of design documents while maintaining peer coordination through basic and detailed design execution phases.
- Attend technical meetings with partners or suppliers as required, identifying and recommending solutions for scope changes or design issues.
- Above all, maintain full compliance with customer technical requirements while seeking cost optimizations.

Desired Skills and Experience
- Degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering (accorded to field of activity).
- 2–4 years of professional engineering experience in related disciplines:
- Ideally in project or EPC environments within Transmission & Distribution (T&D), power generation, or oil & gas sectors.
- Minimum experience could also include 1–2 medium-scale single projects in a Lead Engineer capacity.
- Knowledge of project technical management processes, particularly in multi-functional, interface-heavy teams.
- Experience with managing subcontracted design work packages of varying scales.
- Familiarity with Transmission or Distribution industries considered highly advantageous.
